It is Wednesday morning and we have just learnt that we selpt through an earthquake on Monday night.
Now that is interessting because we thought that the thunderstorm over us was quite heavy rocking our roof a little. But there was nothing scary about that. So all we did was turning around in bed and continued to sleep.
"Shanghai Daily" than wrote this morning that Shanghai was hit by a mini earthquake of 1.2 in a nearby district, 10km deep in the earth. Taking this as opportuntiy they wrote also that aparently there is nothing to fear here until the scale hits 5 and that there is nothing to worry about any potential tsunamis caused by earth quakes in Japan up to scale 9.
In any case we are very happy to live 50km away from the coast and only on the 2nd and 3rd floor of an old house which must have survived various shaking occasions and cyclons. The washing on the balcony not beeing blown away by the storm on monday night or shaken off by moving grounds is somewhat proofe enough that we made the right choice and should be quite safe here :-)
