This Blog is about loving and living in Shanghai. 25 Million Chinese and US! - two "lao wais" (foreigners) called Paul and Angelika who are living right in the heart of the city. Not one day passes where we don´t get fascinated by living here as this place is full of stories and adventures. Big ones, small ones and of coarse our very personal one. You are warmly invited to experience some of these adventures with us and to find out that after all Shanghai is only just a little more crazy than other parts in the world. It´s all a matter of perspective :-). Welcome to our home and to the GOLDLINCOLN Blog!

Happy Holidays!!

Another year is coming to an end. Christmas in on our door step and by the time you read this post we will have boarded a plane bringing us back home to our family and friends in Germany and England.

We are grateful to say that we can look back at another amazing year in Shanghai and our first one as family.

A year full of adventures, milestones,  travels and loads of fun. Paul is still enjoying his job, I look back at my first year of beeing a mommy and together we look at our little Hannah and wonder where time went. This little girl which only seems to having arrived yesterday has turned into a real fun personality.

Accroding to our original plans the time would have come to leave Shanghai now.  But we still love living in our apartment in Gao An Lu. Our senior neighbours Mr and Mrs. Jing have kind of beeing adopted by Hannah as Chinese grand parents. We feel more home there than ever despite some challenges that the city sometimes holds for us.

But with each one we master we learn and grow together a bit more.

And we would have never thought we would say this one day: We are not done with Shanghai yet!  And so it is that year #4 is waiting for us we look forward to another full 12 months of adventures on the other side of the world.

Wherever you are we want to say THANK YOU for staying in touch with us. For not forgetting us and after all these years, still beeing interessted and taking parting in our lifes! We dont take it for granted. It is one of the greatest gifts we could have for this Christmas.

We wish you all a wonderful holiday season and a good start in the new Year.

With love from Shanghai, Germany and London
Angelika, Paul and Hannah
