Our Seashipment is here!

Tuesday, 10th of May - finally our Seashipment arrived. After over 3 months on sea we were ever so exited to find out what we actually packed to bring with us...

We had one of the yellow containers..

It felt a little like receiving tons of Xmas presents. 62 to be exact..

62 boxes full of goodies!.. at least that´s what we thought..

And than they started unpacking, and unpacking and unpacking even more...

until I told them to STOP!! because I had no clue anymore where to put it all.
I mean seariously - who needs all this stuff? Why did we need it in the first place and why did we bring it??
I think we are going to extend this "xmas clebration" and and make some Chinese people very happy.

And you know what? - On our way back to Germany we can have 3 of those yellow containers!!!

Expect the unexpected - Why Shanghai?

For nearly 10 years we have lived in a cosy little village settled amongst lush green vineries on the river rhine in Germany. Just about as we were getting ready to properly settle down, we were presented with this once in a life time opportunity to move for 2-3 years to Shanghai. Was it an expereince we have been looking for? No, it wasn´t. But it was a door that opened and after a little thinking we admitted that we were by far to curious to find out what there would lay behind it. So we decided to take a "left turn" in our life, to try out something new and to move here - An estimated 20 million people mega city, 8000km away. And what have we learnt? Expect the unexpected- always and for sure in our daily life in Shanghai.
