Hi Everyone!
This is Hannah again. My mommy has found not time to share too much of our life here with you recently and sends her apologies.. must be because I keep her busy running around the apartment on all fours, trying to eat plants, opening doors and at night I´m busy with my teeth..
I heard her saying one time that she keeps loosing her brains but finding phones in jacket pockets again ;-)
She therefore allowed me to make up for the past months and create a super long post where I can tell you about our holiday in Japan! I have been dying to share this experience it with you.
For Chinas golden Week beginning of October, the three of us set off to fly over to Tokyo. It was one of those dreams of my parents to go there on holiday one day. They both had been on business, but never for fun. Good that they waited this long so I could go with them!
And I must tell you upfront: Japan is wonderful! It seems to have the collection of the best of many countries my parents have visited. It has a beautiful countryside, it is very easy to travel, you can eat LOADS of Sushi and most of all meet some wonderful people.
Everyone is so friendly and wherever you go it is super clean..I can´t think of any other place in the world where shopping malls pushchairs for us little ones and nappy changing rooms with 5 star facilities. It was almost worth visiting Japan just for that... and despite the millions of people living in a realatively small area it was so much more relaxing compared to Shanghai.
But let´s not talk, but look at some snapshots my mommy and daddy did with me
First stop: Tokyo
We went up Tokyo Tower:
Woow.. what a view...so clean and green!
You can see Mt. Fuji in the distance
for lunch..SUSHI
One night we went up the sky tree (634 meters to the top)
That´s pretty high and what a view!!!.. so clear!
that´s the difference to Shanghai which is just as big but at night much darker and
often it is too foggy to see anything
Hey daddy.. where are we going tomorrow ??
Shibuya!! the busy shopping district in Tokyo
watching famous Shibuya crossing from the top of Starbucks..
up to 1 Million people walk across it EVERY DAY!!
Mommy bought me a REAL Monchichi as souvenier!!
but she didn´t need to, because I found a REAL friend in our hotel room!
We also met up with an old colleague of Mommy, Midori. Thank god that we saw her! She saved me from not starving as we could not find any baby food in the super markets.
3 days later it was time to board a super speedy bullit train (Shikansen)
Daddy..cool traveller as ever..
woow!!...300km/hr.. that´s fast!!
Next stop: Kyoto
the old capital of Japan
Kyoto is famous for it´s temples:
all very ZEN...
.. and tatami is great for crawling!
We also did a trip to the bamboo forest at Arashiyama:
and the 10.000 red gates at Fushimi Inari...
each step one gate!
good that mommy carried me all the way to the top to the temple!
hmm. avocado for lunch half way up the mountain for me..
and some noodles for mommy later back in town..
I haven´t quite figured out how to use these sticks, yet...
Kyoto at night is also amazing.. we stayed here in the Gion district..
(and saw 3 REAL Geishas one night!)
These are not REAL Geishas, but two nice ladies who thought I was cute...
well, that´s because I am :-)!!
Daddy made his long time dream come true and had a set of knives made at a
famous knife maker in Kyoto.
(they seem to cut just by looking at them!!)
Which is a beautiful mountain area near Mt. Fuji...
We took a cable car up to the mountain to get a real good view of Mt. Fuji...
.. and went on a boat ride on a volcanic lake...
After two weeks it was already time to fly back to Shanghai.
I think I heard my parents already saying: Japan we will DEFINATELY go back to!!
